Standa Svačinka joins the SCA-team for one term. He graduated from Masaryk University (Czech Republic), majoring in psychology. For his MA dissertation, he wrote a systematic case study on Gestalt therapy with a client suffering from depressive symptoms. He is currently a student in the doctoral programme in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at Masaryk University supervised by prof Jan Roubal. His research focus is on psychotherapy case studies and he also works on a research project exploring relationships in older adulthood. Through this research placement, he wants to get acquainted with the research culture at Ghent University, meet other researchers in the field and collaborate on a new meta-synthesis of case studies on the topic of therapist self-disclosure.
